KYAE 2007 Regional Conferences
Dates and locations have been set for the 2007 KYAE Regional Conferences as follows:
- Region 3: August 16 and 17, Brown Hotel, Louisville
- Regions 4, 5 and 6: August 23 and 24, Marriott Griffin Gate Resort, Lexington
- Regions 1 and 2: September 6 and 7, University Plaza Hotel, Bowling Green
At each site, the agenda will consist of:
- Day One
- Morning pre-conference sessions
- Afternoon opening conference session and concurrent sessions
- Awards dinner, 6 p.m.
- Day Two
- Continental breakfast
- Morning concurrent sessions
- Closing luncheon, 11:45 a.m.

You will have the option to attend one of four pre-conference sessions. Pre-conference sessions will be held during the first day of each regional conference from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. Please indicate your pre-conference session attendance during online registration.
LEARNING DISABILITIES Recognizing Learning Disabilities Presenters: B.J. Session Description: This session will focus on defining learning disabilities and recognizing the characteristics/consequences of learning disabilities. Experience what it feels like to be learning disabled through lots of hands-on activities and videotapes. Explore using a pre-screening instrument to recognize students who need further assessment. Learn what assistive aids are needed in an adult education center.

Session Description: This session will help you understand and develop strategies for attracting, keeping and motivating students in your adult education program. Specifically, we will examine adult learning theory as a catalyst for improving ways of serving students. This session is jam packed with theory-driven tips, ideas and suggestions for implementing high-retention strategies. *NOTE: SESSION FULL IN REGIONS 4, 5 and 6
NEW USER AERIN TRAINING Introduction to AERIN Presenter: Terry Tackett, Associate System Support, Kentucky Adult Education
Session Description: This session is for new users only. Adult educators play a vital role in collecting accurate and timely data. In this session you will learn how to access the Web-based Adult Education Reporting Information Network (AERIN) data system, navigate through the system, input data and run reports.

Session Description: This session will provide instructors with the information they need to recognize those areas of mathematics with which students have the most difficulty. Learn how to adapt your instructional practices to help your students perform better on the GED mathematics test.

You will register for the conference online this year. KYAE-funded staff will only be able to register for the conference scheduled for their region. There will not be a registration fee for KYAE-funded staff to attend the 2007 Regional Conferences.
