Adult Education Budget Update

Great news, Adult Educators!

The Council on Postsecondary Education approved the postsecondary and adult education budget proposed at its meeting on November 5, 2007.  This budget includes a $2 million increase for Adult Education in FY2008-2009 and another $2 million increase in FY2009-2010.   If enacted by the legislature and signed by the Governor, this would raise the state general fund appropriation for Adult Education from $25,026,000 in the current year to $29,026,000 in FY2009-2010.

As we move toward the opening of the General Assembly session in January, we will keep you apprised of any further developments in the budget process.
