August 20, 2008
Marriott Griffin Gate Hotel, Lexington Kentucky
The first annual Program Directors Fall Institute will be held on August 21-22, 2008. The purpose of this Institute is to provide important information on new accountability, performance, professional development and GED policies; sessions on program leadership, personnel and fiscal management, and instructional leadership; and training in Excel and using data as a program management and planning tool. There will be guest speakers and presenters from both in- and out-of-state.
Attendance at this Institute is required for all program directors. If they wish, each director may bring one instructional leader from their program. In the case of multi-county or cooperative programs, one director, coordinator or instructional leader from each county within the program must attend.
The registration form for the Program Directors Fall Institute is now available on KYAE’s Web site. The Web site also includes information on pre-conference workshops, concurrent sessions and hotel accommodations. On your registration form, please indicate your pre-conference workshop selection. Registration is free for KYAE-funded programs and PD funds may be used to pay for travel and lodging.
Immediately preceding the Institute, on August 20, 2008, a New Program Directors Orientation will be held at the same hotel. All new directors, new county program coordinators or leaders, and any directors who have not yet fulfilled the requirement that they attend this orientation must attend. Please note that the date has been changed so that all Orientation participants will be able to register for a pre-conference workshop on August 21 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Please indicate your attendance at the Orientation on the registration form.
This is an exciting new opportunity to learn leadership and management skills to promote program quality improvement within your program. Many requests for leadership and management training have been received by KYAE and this is your opportunity to learn more and receive the latest information on new policies.
