Save the date…Program Director’s Fall Institute!

KYAE is sponsoring a two-day Program Director’s Fall Institute on August 21 and 22 at the Marriott Griffin Gate Hotel in Lexington.  This is a required event for every program director and each county may also send one lead instructor.

More details will be forwarded to you in the near future.  Please mark these dates on your calendars!

Orientation for new program directors, August 21

All new program directors are required to attend a three-hour orientation on the morning of August 21.  This orientation session is being held in conjunction with the Program Director’s Fall Institute.

National Leadership Excellence Academy

Leadership Excellence Academy applications are due June 16.  This is a great opportunity for any new program director who wants to learn more about operating an adult education program or for program directors who want to improve their leadership skills.  The three days of training will be held in Kentucky (October 9, January 21 and April 28).

Important information about LiteracyLink

The LiteracyLink online management system will not be available through KYVAE after July 1, 2008. Upcoming KYVAE programming changes will not allow LiteracyLink to work through our portal. However, LiteracyLink will still be available next year to all programs through www.pbs.org/literacy. Instructors who want to use LiteracyLink should contact Erika Larson at (502) 573-5114, ext. 104 or Erika.Larson@ky.gov. For interested instructors, KYAE will need to create new accounts linked to the www.pbs.org/literacy site.

All current LiteracyLink students will be able to complete their work through KYVAE. Once these students are separated in AERIN, they will be completed and disenrolled from LiteracyLink.

KYVAE year-end completions

As you enroll new students or make assignments to current students, please keep in mind that June 30 is fast approaching. When students are separated in AERIN, they are also completed in PLATO, WIN and LiteracyLink.  Completion removes students from our online products.

If you are enrolling or working with online students, limit their assignments to work that can be completed by June 30. Before students are separated, generate attendance reports and update AERIN with their online hours.

All online students will temporarily lose access to KYVAE when AERIN is closed.  You may re-enroll students when AERIN is open again for data entry.

KYVAE technical support

The Kentucky Virtual Campus (KYVC) has consolidated its technical helpdesk and call center under one number - (877) 740-4357. To reach the call center for assistance with PLATO, WIN and Literacy Link, please press ‘2’ or stay on the line. The call center is able to assist both students and instructors with KYVAE problems.

Please discontinue using (866) 606-1725 as this number is no longer associated with the KYVC call center.
