2010-11 Professional Development Requirements

Research has shown us that effective professional development (PD) is on-going, is tested to prove the desired learning takes place and is designed so that participants actually use what they’ve learned back in their classrooms.

The theme for this year’s professional development is Quality Instruction. All PD addresses developing lesson plans that support managed classrooms and differentiated instruction.

The 2010-11 KYAE Professional Development Program consists of:

  • 1st Year Instructor Institute
  • 2nd Year Instructor Institute
  • Experienced Instructor Institutes
  • Program Director Institute
  • Targeted Institutes (PowerPath and Standards-in-Action)
  • Online courses for part-time instructors and instructor's aides not completing an institute

See the 2010-11 KYAE Professional Development Offerings for Instructors and Instructor's Aides (370K PDF).
