Recruitment Toolkit
Kentucky Adult Education’s core business is to raise the educational levels of eligible adults by providing academic instruction that leads to strong literacy skills and GED® attainment, which are the gateways to postsecondary education and highly skilled employment.
In adult basic education programs, marketing is the process of gathering information, reviewing statistics, establishing specific target populations and examining what resources are available. Only after this is accomplished will the program be ready to promote itself and begin its recruitment activities.
To recruit adult education students into your center or into your center’s virtual world requires innovative thinking, and virtual tools and applications fitting to their learning styles. An educator must learn how to adapt to this changing world quickly. Recruitment is not static. It does not lend itself to “just one way works”. This toolkit is a “live” listing of resources to give insight into this new world and it will be in a continually developing and changing mode.
This toolkit provides information on best practices for marketing to and recruiting of adult education students.
