Competency Credentialing Certificates

Kentucky Employability Certificate (KEC) |
 |
- Provides skill-based credentials to Kentuckians to help them secure employment.
- Provides employers with workers that have documented skills proficiencies.
- Certifies applicants who employers can hire with confidence.
The KEC is based on three WorkKeys® skill areas:
- Reading for Information
- Applied Math
- Locating Information
To earn a KEC, a person must take all three assessments. The KEC is then awarded in two levels:
- Silver - for a score of 4 on all three assessments
- Gold - for a score of 5 on all three assessments

Kentucky Manufacturing Skills Standards (KMSS) Certificate |
 |
- Increases the quality of Kentucky's workforce.
- Increases productivity and per capita income.
- Provides for a higher standard of living.
- Improves quality of life.
The KMSS certificate is based on academic, employability and occupational skills identified by the KMSS Task Force as necessary for employment in the manufacturing sector.
To earn a KMSS certificate, a person must pass the KMSS assessment at one of two levels:
- Basic level I - applicable to all manufacturing organizations.
- Advanced level II - applicable to high performance manufacturing organizations.
